Edmonton radio vet Charley West moved across the hall to Charles R. Allard's Touch Canada Broadcasting AM 930 CJCA The Light side to host Daybreak Live in the mornings. West was first heard in Edmonton on EZ-Rock 104.9 in 1992, later jumping to Shine FM in 2005 shortly after the Christian music station signed on. Former Light morning man John Ramer moves the other way across the hall to host Shine's morning show.

Shine also sees the return of West's morning mate Charlee Redman (together they were the Charley and Charlee show at EZ Rock). Building a busy voice over career since leaving EZ Rock, Redman can now add middays from 10 to 2 to her CV.

Known as the "Fastest Tone Arm In The West" on 930 CJCA's legendary Bill & Bill show, former CKER World FM morning man Wade Sorochan is now hosting Life Talk afternoons on CJCA's The Light.
The now-former southern gospel station seems poised to go all-talk, possibly drawing a line in the sand in anticipation of what comes out of a CRTC call for application that is widely expected to bring an all-news station rival to 630 CHED.
CHED station manager and Corus VP Doug Rutherford has gone on record telling his troops the broadcaster would "defend their turf" and turn sister-station Cool 880 into a news operation.
