CHED posted one of their best placings since their heyday as the city's premier Top 40 station in the late sixties and early seventies. Surprising, however, was the desertion away from Joe FM which lost a third of its audience. Both K-Rock and the Bear recovered their positions while 96X slipped from fifth to seventh place with a substantial share loss perhaps due to CHUM's new station "The Bounce" entering the market with a respectable 3.2 number.
Demographically, women aged 25-54 were tuned into EZ Rock with an 18.5 share, nearly equal to the male support for K-Rock at 18.4. Rounding out the female top spots were CISN at 15.7 and 92.5 Joe FM with 13.6, while men placed the Bear second at 12.4 and CISN third at 11.6.
