The 2007 Bryan Mudryk Golf Classic was a huge success. Despite soggy conditions on the golf course, a good time was had by all – including Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach seen here with Bryan.

As part of the charity event, proceeds were raised by sponsoring such hair-raising events as male leg waxing.

And as he promised family and friends, Neil Pedersen willingly went under the razor. While it may have been wet on the golf course, there wasn't a dry eye in the house as Neil's locks were shed.

They both hail from Boyle, Alberta and they both have had their lives touched by cancer.

Bryan Mudryk

Bryan Mudryk is a sports anchor with TSN in Toronto. Neil Pedersen is farmer who hasn't cut his hair in a year.

On Saturday, June 23rd the two will get together to help raise funds to help support the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton.

Mudryk's Golf Classic event has grown in size during each of the four years it has been held, raising over $100,000 dollars and becoming the most successful golf tournament fundraiser in northern Alberta.

This year even Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach will be attending, joining Brian's old broadcast-mates Daryl McIntyre, Erin Isfeld, Joel Gotlib, and Serena Mah from CTV Edmonton.

In addition to the opportunity to sponsor Neil's de-locking, you can bid on signed memorabilia from Dwayne Roloson, Ryan Smyth, Alexander Ovechkin, Saku Koivu, Jonathan Cheechoo, Shawn Horcoff, Jason Smith, Peter Sykora, Steve Staios and many others.

While the golf event is sold out, you can still buy tickets for the dinner – it will be down-home country lip-smackin' good!

For more about the event, visit the 2007 Bryan Mudryk Golf Classic website.
