Clarence Primeau said screams outside his apartment suite woke him up in the middle of the night.
"I heard them say 'help help' and then all of a sudden it just quit," he told Global Edmonton.
"Then I looked outside and I was thinking, that's gotta be my brother."
Clarence said detectives later told him that his brother – Ron Primeau – had been stabbed and was dead from injuries sustained.
"Two guys were chasing him," he explained. "And they caught him in front of the house.
"He says "help help' and by that time they stick a big ..." Clarence said, making a stabbing motion, "... right through the heart."
Primeau said he could think of no reason for his brother's slaying which has left him "totally devasted."
