Dino Kaz was found dead near Evansburg, Alberta on December 29th, 2010.
RCMP wanted to speak with Kaz in connection with a body found December 19th in a burned-out Quonset hut on a property in eastern Strathcona County.
When they couldn't find Kaz, the 42-year-old was listed as a missing person until his remains were found near his truck about 40 kilometres west of Evansburg.
By January 5th, 2011, the medical examiner had yet to rule on the cause of Kaz's death.
In a media follow-up report, Barry Kaz, Dino's older brother, said the man had a wife and no kids, adding Dino ran his own machine shop and was friends with the owner of the property in Strathcona County.
"He was quite distanced from the family," Barry said.
"He was like the black sheep of the family, so we don't really know what he was up to and it was quite a shock to us all because we weren't aware of what was going on with him."
Barry said it was rare for his younger brother not to contact the family for such a long period of time.
"We're just waiting to hear if there's more evidence," he said.
An obituary for Dino Kaz posted on January 7th, 2011.
