Suspicious death of woman
On February 8th, 2009 Edmonton police investigated a suspicious death in the city's south east after parents of a 26-year-old woman found her lying dead in a mobile home read more »
At about 12:30 p.m. parents of the woman found her lying dead in the kitchen of 6 Willowdale Drive, inside the Oak Ridge trailer park at approximately 66th Avenue and 11th Street.
Emergency services were immediately called. Homicide detectives soon responded, securing the home and area with crime scene tape and searching of clues.
“It looked a little suspicious to them,” Det. Bill Clark said, referring to arriving officers at the scene.
“We've had a chance to examine the scene ... we do not know the cause of death [but] there does not appear to be indications of foul play.”
Clark said the woman lived alone and neither she, nor the house she was found in, was known to police.
An autopsy later showed the woman's death was non-criminal in nature and police have closed their investigation.

When paramedics found the woman already dead at the scene they called in police.
Arriving officers figured the woman died under suspicious circumstances and turned the matter over to homicide detectives.
After spending less than an hour at the scene, investigators turned the matter over to the medical examiner's office to make sure the woman's death was not the result of foul play.
