Missing: Alexander Xavier Smith
Edmonton police asked for the public's assistance in locating a missing 14-year-old boy.

Alexander Xavier Smith left his grandmother's residence on June 28th, 2008. He was reported missing to police by family on July 14th.
Smith was known to frequent the 118th Avenue area 34th Street in Beverly. A reported sighting of him took place in mid-to-late July on 118th Avenue.
Police said that while Smith was associated with a high-risk lifestyle, his disappearance was not considered to be suspicious.
"There's no indication that he's gone anywhere against his will," a police spokesman said.

Police nab man wanted for sexual assaults along Yellowhead Highway
After RCMP released images of a person wanted in connection with a series of incidents along the Yellowhead Highway west of Edmonton, a B.C. man was arrested in Fort McMurrary.

On September 8th, 2008, at around 4:00 p.m., a man is alleged to have sexually assaulted at least one woman as she was shopping in the Hinton Wal-Mart.
45 minutes later, there was an attempted luring of two teenaged girls in the same town.
A few minutes after that, a seven-year-old girl was lured into a vehicle near Hinton. When she realised she wasn't being driven home, she was able to escape unharmed when the vehicle slowed.
Shortly thereafter, at about 5:45 p.m., two women were sexually assaulted in the Edson Wal-Mart.
At about 6:00 p.m. the vehicle thought be involved was seen at a service station on the east side of Edson.
Investigators believe that all the incidents involved same individual. Examination of surveillance footage led RCMP to release an image of the man thought responsible, along with images of a truck.
It wasn't indicated from which Wal-Mart the surveillance footage was taken.

Police described the man as a Caucasian male, with a round face and round glasses. He is estimated to be 5-feet 5-inches 5-feet 9-inches tall (165 to 175 cm) with a medium build. He has short brown hair and sports a small goatee. He was wearing a white t-shirt with a black shirt underneath and khaki-coloured pants.

The vehicle was described as an early 2000 model Dodge Dakota, dark blue or black colour with a British Columbia license plate. The truck had numerous aftermarket additions including a front bush grill, headache rack, box rails, chrome-plated mud flaps, tube-style running boards, and black rims. The truck was further distinguished with two scoops or vents on the hood, and two square fog lights mounted on the bush bar, located towards the middle of the truck.

On September 14th, 2008 RCMP Major Crimes investigators arrested Robin Joseph Wingie, 42 of McBride, British Columbia. The man was arrested without incident at a Fort McMurray residence with assistance from local RCMP.
Wingie was charged with kidnapping, abduction of a child under 14, sexual assault, and dangerous driving in connection with the Hinton incident, and two counts of sexual assault in connection with the Edson incident.
RCMP credit a call from a TV news viewer for the arrest.
On November 19th, 2008 it was reported that Wingie pleaded not guilty to the charges and that his request for bail was denied.
The dates of March 18th to 20th, 2009 were set aside for his trial in Hinton.
Senior arrested for historic sex assault charges

Wanted: Michael Lucien Gibot
A big guy with a record to match, Michael Lucien Gibot is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for apprehension and suspension of his parole.

Gibot was serving a 3-year 3-month sentence for assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, assaulting a police officer and public mischief.
On July 18th, 2008 Gibot was out on statutory release from the Saskatchewan Penitentiary. He was told to take a bus to Edmonton and report to a parole Officer. Police believe he arrived but never checked in.
Gibot has family in Edmonton but has stronger ties to the Saskatoon and Winnipeg areas. Records indicate he was a member of a native street gang.
Police described Gibot as 48 years old (born August 17th, 1960), 6-feet 2-inches, 203 lbs with black hair and brown eyes. He sometimes wears glasses and occasionally sports an an earring in his left ear.
Tattoos include: on his left hand "LOVE" across the fingers; on the left shoulder an indian chief; on the right upper arm an eagle and "Mikey and Peggy"; on his left thumb a teepee; on his left chest two hearts; on his right chest a rose. Scars include a 2-incher on his right cheek and a slash mark on his left arm.
Gibot also goes by Michael Heron, Michael Gladue and Peter James Hunter. A larger image of the man can be seen here.
His record of 52 convictions include theft, armed robbery, assault with a weapon, escaping lawful custody, being unlawfully at large, break and enter, and failing to appear.

Wanted: Marc Peter Hegedus
Convicted of second-degree murder, 38-year-old Marc Peter Hegedus was serving a life sentence when on August 31st, 2008 he left a half way house without permission. That was a breach of his conditions and Canada-wide warrant was issued for apprehension and suspension of his parole.

Hegedus was released on parole on June 12th, 2008. His past convictions include assault with a weapon, assault and break and enter.
Born February 2nd, 1970, Hegedus was described as standing 6-feet 1-inch, weighing 262 lbs with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was scars on his left forearm and right thigh. A larger image of Hegedus can be seen here.
His many tattoos include on his right upper arm "HEGEDUS", a cross, a clown with a fan and flames; on his left upper arm skulls, roses, flames, reapers, a tree, demons; on his upper back a dragon; and on his abdomen tribal art.

The Edmonton police South East Division is looking for Kelan Philip Kavanaugh, a 25-year-old with several outstanding charges.
