Johnny Brian Altinger, 38, was reported missing October 10th, 2008. On October 31st Mark Andrew Twitchell, 29, was charged with first-degree murder.
On November 3rd, 2008 Global Edmonton's Carolyn Jarvis quoted excerpts from a "leaked" copy of the "House of Cards" script, the movie police alleged Twitchell had filmed immediately prior Johnny Altinger's death.

While Jarvis did not reveal the source of the script, in her 5:00 p.m. live in-studio report with Lynda Steele she let slip that it had come from "friends working on the movie."

The script referred to a man who was cheating on his wife and who had ultimately and deservedly met his fate a theme common in the "Dexter" TV series Twitchell had been thought to follow.

In the script, Jarvis said, Twitchell wrote of a male killer who worked for police and had lured a man to his death on the pretence of a date with a woman.

The killer "winds up and decapitates Roger" - the fictional victim - "in one smooth motion. The head slumps to the floor." He then proceeds to use a power saw to cut him up into pieces, Jarvis quoted.
The killer uses a stun gun while wearing a hockey mask described as almost identical to the one police alleged Twitchell wore when he assaulted his first victim, the man who escaped.

The story ends by revealing that the entire story was created by a writer who closes his laptop, telling the audience he had created a female profile on an online dating service.

The killer's wife then asks him, "How's the story coming along?"

The writer replies, "Really well, sweetie. It's true when they say the best way to succeed is to write what you know."

The scenario recalled the July 30th, 2008 post on Twitchell's Facebook page which, if proven, seemed to foreshadow real-life events.
