Hamburger thieves run into hot dog
It was about 3:00 a.m. on September 8th, 2007 when three young males sought to satisfy their hunger pangs at a fast food restaurant on 81st Street and Argyll Road. Trouble was while they brought their appetite they didn't bring any dough.
Nevertheless, the likely tripped-out trio demanded some burgers but the restaurant chose to enforce its "No Money, No Service" policy.
Deprived of their trans-fat fix, the three men took out their frustrations on the fast-food joint's windows, smashing them on their way out. That led to police being called in particular Constable Tom Bechtold and Police Service Dog Cruiser.
Bechtold and Cruiser sniffed a meaty trail to a nearby residence at 65th Avenue and 84th Street. One suspect was arrested on the front driveway while the two other suspects were located inside and arrested.
Charged with attempted robbery and mischief were Trent Webb, 19, Devon Greyeyes, 21 and Adrian Mack, 21.
While waiting to make bail, the three likely faced three squares in the crowbar hotel with no substitutions allowed.

"We do know that the young man actually collapsed just down by the lakedbed area here and he's got two stab wounds to his chest appear to be quite serious at this point."
Police brought in the Air 1 helicopter and the dog unit to search for the man's attacker. Investigators spoke to several witnesses but have no suspects, said Fedechko.
Duty Inspector Terri Uhern later said that despite the seriousness of his injuries the unnamed man was expected to recover.
Burning man found
Police were summoned to investigate the unusual case of a man's burning body found near the riverbank south of the downtown Oliver neighbourhood.
"It's odd because people don't usually start on fire so we're looking into what it is. We've got the fire investigators, we've got arson coming that's all we've got at this time," reported Insp. Teri Uhryn as she briefed media at the scene » full details »
