The body was found at the east end of a recreational vehicle park just west of the town of Morinville, about 30 kilometers north of Edmonton.

Morinville RCMP at first treated the death as suspicious.

Police made a tentative identification but awaited autopsy results and the notification of next of kin before releasing details to the public.

There were no obvious signs of foul play and police did not indicate how long the body may have been at the location near Highway 642 just west of Highway 2.

The owner of the RV park adjacent to the area said all registered campers were accounted for.

RV park manager Eric Dyke was told by police the death was "not suspicious."

"Word around here was that the person may have been found in a collapsed tent," Dyke told the Edmonton Sun.

An autopsy performed on June 14th determined the man's death was non-criminal.

Police said the man was a 33-year-old resident of Morinville.

The victim's family did not wish to have his name published.
