At about 7 p.m. on April 26th, 2006 police were called out to the Canadian National Railway tracks near 82 Street and 127 Avenue behind the Habitat for Humanity warehouse.
A call had come in from CN Police stating that a dead body had been found lying among the tracks.
The male victim had suffered severe injuries to the head that were deemed to be not the result of homicide. Police said he was likely struck by a train between 5 p.m. and 6:50 p.m.
The investigation was initially hampered as the man was found without identification. Police used fingerprints to identify him as Anthony Marino Gladue, 17, of Edmonton.
A CN spokesman said the victim was a trespasser and not a CN employee. Police believe Gladue either slipped while trying to get on a train or took his own life.
Two months after the incident Gladue's family demanded a fresh investigation into his death.
