227 Warwick Crescent - Liana and Michael White's home

Larry Forbes said that when he arrived at his step-son's house he went upstairs to see for himself the alleged blood evidence in the master bedroom.

The police theory is that Liana was mortally stabbed there.

Forbes says he spotted a small paper arrow on the wall, to the right of the White's large bed, pointing to a fingernail-sized spot where Luminol had identified possible human blood.

"Christ, is that it?" he queried.

Police had also cut out a foot-square piece out of a bedsheet on Liana's side of the bed which allegedly had blood on it.

Missing from the house, Michael White claimed, were a number of kitchen appliances he now needed if he was going to stay in his house.

He said while he was behind bars at the Remand Centre, a certain person had helped herself to some of he and Liana's possessions, including all the family photos.

"Nice," he said.

Estate papers filed in Court of Queens Bench would list numerous items allegedly taken from Michael and Liana White's house.

These included the couple's wedding gifts, a bathroom towel stand (a gift from Michael's father and stepmother), wall ornaments and pictures that had been hanging on the walls, a steam cleaner, a CD player, a television, a small radio, movies, the couple's outdoor lawn ornaments ... and the healthiest of their exotic plants.

What hadn't been lifted from the house were Michael White's two pellet guns.

White phoned police and an officer dropped by to pick up the pellet guns. As part of his bail conditions, White was not allowed to have any weapons.

Within days, Larry Forbes was headed back to Ontario.

Michael White was now alone and he phoned me.

I went around to meet him, but I arrived about 45 minutes late. That's because the directions I got from White were terrible.

Mind you, that was before GPS units came down in price.

Michael White gave me a quick tour of his split-level residence. Save for the paper arrow on the wall and the cut bed linen, the house was clean and well-kept.
