The party was over for two seventeen-year olds: one was dead and the other was in custody.

It seems two groups of people left a large house party at 12844 104 Street at about 3 a.m. when an argument erupted between them.

Cameron Campbell was stabbed once in the torso and died later in hospital.

Police credit statements made by witnesses for leading them to a house at 8433 36 Avenue where a seventeen-year-old male was arrested.

Both Campbell and the young offender arrested were known to police who said they were ruling out criminal activity as a factor.

Campbell was once questioned by police in connection with the August 7th, 2005 Earl Gambler murder case.

Neighbours said the house was a location known for numerous loud parties. Campbell's death was Edmonton's 33rd confirmed homicide of 2005.

The seventeen-year-old arrested was charged with second-degree murder, possession of a weapon and breaching probation.

His stepfather told local media the youth had been convicted of auto theft in the past. He cannot be identified under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
